Carols in the Domain is a free community event that is also a major television event broadcast nationally on the Seven Network and regional affiliates.
Food and beverages, kid’s carnival and sponsor activations will be available on-site. The event commences from 12.00 noon with the event carnival commencing, pre-show entertainment from 3.00 pm, and the concert will take place from 7.45 pm to 10.30 pm, and up to 40,000 patrons are expected to attend. Fireworks displays from The Crescent Precinct will also take place during the main event.
Sound checks and rehearsals will be carried out intermittently from:
- Wednesday 19 December, 3.00 – 6.00 pm
- Thursday 20 December, 5.00 – 9.15 pm
- Friday 21 December, 3.45 – 10.45 pm
Event sound will be carried out intermittently from 12 noon to 10.45 pm on Saturday 22 December 2018.

Please note we do anticipate a small crowd of approx. 3,500 patrons at the dress rehearsal on Friday 21 December.
We encourage patrons to use public transport to and from the event:
- Train: exit via St James, Martin Place or Circular Quay
- Ferry: walk to The Domain from Circular Quay

Traffic delays anticipated from 12 noon and on egress between 10.00 – 11.30 pm on both Friday 21 December and Saturday 22 December.
An event drop off zone will be operational on the corner of Hospital and Art Gallery Roads. Limited metered parking is available on Mrs Macquaries Road and the Domain Carpark. For prices visit: www.domaincarpark.com.au
Art Gallery Road and Hospital Road will be closed to inbound traffic from 8.00 pm to 11.00 pm on Saturday 22 December (vehicles are able to exit, except during main pedestrian egress periods).
