Which areas of The Domain / Garden are impacted by this event and when?

Fleet Steps, Mrs Macquaries Point
Site occupation: Wednesday 13 December 2017 – Monday 26 February 2018 Event season: Saturday 7 January 2018 – Saturday 17 February 2018

I am not attending the event, will I still be able to access the Domain / Garden on the event day/s?

Bump in & bump out phase: There will be no public access along the Sea Wall or Fleet Steps during bump in & bump out phases. Yurong Gate to remain closed throughout bump in/out, pedestrians to be diverted through Victoria Lodge Gate

Event season: Access will be maintained along the Sea Wall and on Fleet Steps until 5:00pm.

What will the traffic and access impacts be?

We encourage patrons to use public transport to and from the event:

  • Train: exit via St James, Martin Place or Circular Quay

  • Ferry: walk to The Domain from Circular Quay

  • Bus: for timetables, maps and trip planning visit www.transportnsw.info

    Please note the following traffic changes will occur:

    •  Road Closures
      No road closures, though traffic delays expected nightly on Mrs Macquaries Road during event season on egress between approx. 10.15 pm-11.45 pm

    • Gate Closures
      Bump in & bump out phase: Yurong Gate to remain closed throughout this period, pedestrians diverted through Victoria Lodge Gate.

    • Footpath Closures ie Sea Wall walkway
      Bump in & bump out phase: There will be no public access along the Sea Wall or Fleet Steps during bump in & bump out phases. Yurong Gate to remain closed throughout bump in/out, pedestrians to be diverted through Victoria Lodge Gate

      Event season: Access will be maintained along the Sea Wall and on Fleet Steps until 5.00 pm.

    • Parking restrictions / parking availability
      Limited metered parking is available on Mrs Macquaries Road and the Domain Carpark (operated by Interpark). For prices visit: www.domaincarpark.com.au.

    • Mobility Pass Holder access As per standard access

Will the Pavilion / Botanic Garden restaurant be open as usual? Yes Will the Garden Shop still be operating?

Will there be any sound impacts related to this event?

Pre Season Sound checks: Low level intermittent sound checks the 5-7 January 2018.

Event Season: Sound checks screening nights 4.30 pm – 5.00 pm, and low sound impact during event hours 6.00 pm and 11.45 pm. We are committed to complying with all legislation and guidelines covering amplified sound levels at outdoor events.
