New Business Opportunity

We are now seeking proposals to operate a visitor transport business within the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

The current operator, a trackless passenger train, has been successfully operating in the Garden for almost 10 years under a licence with the Royal Botanic Garden and Domain Trust. This licence is coming to the end of its term.

We are interested in innovative proposals from suitably qualified and experienced business operators to provide an innovative, low impact, environmentally sustainable affordable method of transport and quality service to Garden visitors.

The Garden’s existing visitor transport operates daily and offers a scenic train tour of the Garden taking approximately 25 minutes. The tour includes commentary of the its history, interesting facts and the surrounding harbour. The tours start and finish at the Queen Elizabeth II Gates located near the Opera House forecourt.

The new licence will commence from 1 October 2017, for a period of five years.
