Sydney Science Trail Booking Request Form

Thank you for your interest in booking a full-day student excursion to the Sydney Science Trail! We're looking forward to an exciting schedule of school excursions in celebration of National Science Week.

The submission of a booking request form is a formal request for a Sydney Science Trail education booking with the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney (RBG) and the Australian Museum (AM) for the date/s specified. Program Overview

Secondary students: Years 7-11 | Monday 14 - Tuesday 15 August | 9:30am - 2:30pm
Primary students: Years 3-6 | Wednesday 16 - Thursday 17 August | 9:30am - 2:30pm
Diverse Learners: Year 3-11 | Friday 18 August | 9:30am - 2:30pm 

Sessions: Entry includes four different sessions across the day :
1. Science show (Primary & Diverse Learners days) or Talking Science panel (Secondary) in the Calyx, Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. 
2. Science Expo at the Australian Museum 
3. Workshop (choice of four)
4. Self-guided experience of either the Australian Museum or the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

Structure: 
Class groups rotate through four 60-minute sessions across two historic venues - two sessions at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and two at the Australian Museum.
 
- Morning sessions: 9:30 - 10:30 & 10:30 - 11:30 
- Lunch and change venues: 11:30 - 12:30 
- Afternoon sesssions: 12:30 - 1:30 & 1:30 - 2:30 

Capacity: 480 students per day with half day at the Australian Museum and half day at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. 
Cost: $18 per student (inc GST). Minimum charge of 20 students per booked group applies Monday - Thursday. Teachers attend free of charge.

Fees

 

A minimum charge of 20 students per booked group applies.

A quote for your excursion will be sent to you with your booking confirmation.

Teachers and assisting adults attend free of charge.

COVID-19 Guidelines

 

I understand that teachers, school staff, parent helpers or students who have an active COVID-19 infection, are not permitted to attend the Sydney Science Trail programs.  

It is the attendee’s responsibility to ensure that all attendees associated with their booking are complying with the latest requirements of the NSW Government’s COVID-19 Website, which takes precedence over these guidelines. https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/rules

The submission of a booking request form is a formal request for a Sydney Science Trail education booking with the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney (RBG) and the Australian Museum (AM) for the date/s specified.  

The receiving of a booking confirmation document by email constitutes an agreement that your excursion is booked and confirmed and subject to our cancellation policy.  

You will be invoiced based on final numbers provided by COB 1 August 2023. If you do not wish to proceed with your booking, or if you need to make changes to your attending numbers, notification must be made in writing to programs.info@botanicgardens.nsw.gov.au by COB 1 August 2023.  

Minimum charges per booked group apply. 

All invoices will be issued in week of 1 August 2023. Payment options will be included on the invoice, including credit card options. American Express, cash and cheque payments are not accepted under any circumstances. 

Once issued, invoices are final with payment terms of 30 days. 

 
 

What Happens Next?

 

The submission of this form is a formal request for a Sydney Science Trail excursion booking at the Australian Museum and The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney on the date/s specified. Once we receive your form we will allocate your booking based on our availability and will respond with a booking confirmation document and quote.

The receiving of a booking confirmation document by email constitutes an agreement that your excursion booked and confirmed and subject to our cancellation policy, see above.
