Wildlife Monitoring
Once you have chosen your hollow and taken your initial measurements, you are now ready to start monitoring!
We ask that participants monitor each hollow once per fortnight for 10 minutes. Ideally alternating between day (diurnal) and night (nocturnal) observations. We understand that some people will make more frequent observations, for example, opportunistically observing a hollow while gardening or sitting in the yard. However, for hollows in your street, park or paddock it is valuable to make regular observations. It is important to be mindful that you are unlikely to observe wildlife straightaway.
