Botanic Garden educators will take you on a discovery of natural ecosystems, where you’ll plant a seed, follow a seed’s journey and learn where food comes from.  A complementary workshop by Musica Viva In Schools’ group ‘Zeeko’ will engage you in making music focused on environmental themes.

The workshops culminate in a wonderful musical performance which will transport you across the earth’s ecosystems, with an engaging, interactive show centred around sustainability, and featuring a range of instruments and music styles.

Zeeko Musica Viva Workshop
The musicians of Zeeko specialise in transporting students on a journey across the earth’s ecosystem, in this fun and engaging workshop. This eclectic rock band – with male and female voices, guitar, bass and percussion – compose original songs about sustainable food, extinct animals and the deep ocean, with influences ranging from bluegrass, the Caribbean, jazz and ambient music. With voice and percussion, students are able to engage their own creativity to explore a fundamental message: nature is calling to us, and it’s time to listen.

Two hours of accredited teacher PD when you book!
To prepare your students for the day, comprehensive sustainability-themed science and music education resources will be provided when you book. These resources are curriculum-aligned, and include two hours of accredited, online teacher PD.
