In accordance with the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989
, the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust Regulation 2013
is due for repeal on 1 September 2020. The Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust (Trust) intends to remake the regulations and has proposed draft Regulations.
The objects of the draft Regulations are to provide a framework for carrying out or giving effect to the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust Act 1980
(Act) with respect to the matters contained in Section 22(2) of the Act including:
- The use and enjoyment of the Trust lands
- The care, control and management of the Trust lands
- The determination and payment of fees
While the existing regulations are effective, updates are required to align the regulations with those for similar trusts and parks in the state and to streamline operational processes.
The draft Regulation 2020 is on public exhibition until 5pm 10 August and you can download a copy here
. An independent regulatory impact statement
has been prepared to assess the impact of the draft Regulations.
