The best parties with a view this NYE in Sydney

The Royal Botanic Garden and Domain is famous around the world for being the place to view the magnificent fireworks that ring in the New Year at Sydney Harbour. But not everyone knows that the Garden throws fantastic events with food, drinks, and entertainment to ensure you and your loved ones have an epic night to remember.

Ready to welcome in 2021 with a bang? Register your interest here to be the first to hear about NYE 2020 - 2021 events and get exclusive access to the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney's New Year's Eve tickets.

Here are our picks to get the party started!

Calling all party people to Harbour Hoopla with DJ Mr Chad

Harbour Hoopla is the New Year’s Eve event for the squad that can’t sit still – led by the original NYE party person, DJ Mr Chad.

Spend the evening exploring the circus-themes sideshows, getting crazy at the selfie station, and hitting the most major dance floor across the Garden and the Domain.

DJ Mr Chad was born on NYE 1983 when a young Sydneysider named Chad got his block party pumping  – and with each (New) year his party powers grows. From The Beatles to Bieber and beyond, DJ Mr Chad is all about mixing genres and mixing beats to get people grooving.

Wild soul with Soma Sutton at Garden Party at the Calyx

What do you get when you combine one mega-talented Triple J unearthed artist, 7,000 carnivorous plants, and a cocktail party in the heart of Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden? A sumptuous and unique evening known as Garden Party at the Calyx.

Inner-West based Soma Sutton and her five piece band will bring the neo-soul original material that caught the eye of Triple J Unearthed to The Calyx.

Get caught up in Soma’s captivating and indulgent sound within the lush green environment of Garden Party at The Calyx this New Year’s Eve.

Spoilt for choice with Dirty Cash featuring Natasha Stuart at Midnight at the Oasis

Combining astonishing harbourside views, a three-course meal, and performances by The Voice 2019 finalist Natasha Stuart and band Dirty Cash, Midnight at the Oasis is an opulent night of entertainment.

The energy and passion of Dirty Cash featuring Natasha Stuart on stage will be rivalled only by the midnight fireworks – but fortunately organisers won’t have the two competing for your attention.

Bondi local Natasha Stuart has long been hugely popular within the Sydney music scene, and most recently grew her fan base through her amazing blind audition and subsequent successes through to the finale of The Voice 2019.

"Destroying dance floors everywhere (in a good way)"

While audiences may know her powerful ballads on The Voice, Natasha wants to assure NYE audiences that they’ll be rocking at Midnight at The Oasis. All accomplished musicians, Dirty Cash also includes Aria-nominated drummer Antonio Chiappetta, and Natasha says they take pride in their reputation for “destroying dance floors everywhere (in a good way)”.

Have the time of your life at The Point

With a prime location at Mrs Macquaries Point, it’s no wonder The Point was the first NYE 2020 event at the Royal Botanic Garden and the Domain to sell out.

In addition to unsurpassed views of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, live band Pre-Loved and DJ Jason Hickey will ensure guests have a spectacular soundtrack to accompany their special night.

Having spent his last four NYE’s DJing at the Garden, Jason loves the mix of people who have come together from all over the globe.

Jason says he is more than happy to be working – nowhere else in the world has these views and the party to match!

Fireworks for everyone!

If Oprah* was hosting New Year’s Eve at the Royal Botanic Garden and the Domain, she would be calling out “you get an amazing view of the fireworks”, “you get an amazing view of the fireworks”, “you get an amazing view of the fireworks”, because every one of our events has a custom location from which to view the world-famous Sydney Harbour New Year’s Eve fireworks.

The site of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and the Domain, sitting east of the CBD and wrapping around Farm Cove, is perfectly positioned to offer views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Sydney Opera House, and stretching across to capture the Harbour light displays.

Harbour Hoopla, Lawn with a View, Midnight at The Oasis, The Point, and New Year’s Eve Picnic all take place harbourside for guests to enjoy the harbour views and sunset before the 9pm fireworks and midnight show.

Garden Party at The Calyx takes place at our award-winning horticultural display space in the centre of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. Guests at The Calyx will begin their evening at their luxurious cocktail party and be escorted to an exclusive viewing area for the midnight fireworks.

Whether you are going for cocktail cool at the Calyx, funky fun at Harbour Hoopla, or views for days at Lawn with a View, we look forward to you joining us to celebrate 2019 and welcome in 2020 at a party to remember at the Royal Botanic Garden and the Domain.

Learn more and secure tickets to your favourite before they sell out.

*Disclaimer: Oprah Winfrey is not hosting NYE at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, but you don’t need her because you will already be having the night of a lifetime!
