Exciting things to come at Garden’s signature space

The Calyx has secured an exclusive on-site caterer, Laissez-faire Catering, a local company which focuses on ethical, economic and environmental practises to enhance their sustainability techniques, minimise their environmental footprint, and give back to the community.

The award-winning caterer has more than 30 years of expertise in events and venues across NSW and specialises in best-in-class food styling.

Laissez-faire Catering offer an exceptional and flexible catering service to complement The Calyx’s living display and their menus are refined, innovative and celebrate creativity,” Carla Armanet, Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust Director Experiences, Partnerships & Engagement, said.
 
The company have also engaged Aboriginal culture and food pioneer Indigiearth to provide catering services at the venue, which boasts contemporary architecture, a large-scale living green wall and offers both indoor and outdoor event options.
 
With capacity for up to 400 people and enviably located in the heart of the Sydney CBD, The Calyx is a vibrant, versatile, and contemporary venue perfect for business events, product launches, cocktail parties and weddings.
 
“With the Sydney CBD relatively dormant over the last two years, this is another exciting revival that will see The Calyx become one of the most sought-after event spaces in the Sydney CBD,” Ms Armanet said.

“Full wedding packages are being created to make wedding days easy and memorable, including ceremonies at one of the Garden’s beautiful lawns, followed by an incredible reception at The Calyx.”
 
The Calyx will also have a new kiosk opening on 15 April for visitors. The kiosk will be open 9.30am–4pm over the Easter long weekend, then from 8am after that point.

The current exhibit at The Calyx takes visitors into the spectacular world of aquatic delights.
Combining the theatrical with horticulture, the Inside the Tide exhibition creates a surreal, magical and playful display.
