Outdoor Public Events
The Royal Botanic Garden and Domain, Sydney are managed by the Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust. The Trust has a long history of providing places for public enjoyment.
The Royal Botanic Garden is a place of passive recreation offering users quiet reflection time and the enjoyment of the botanic surrounds. A true heritage area of great cultural significance, the Domain is a living link with the beginnings of European settlement in Australia.It is known as 'the People’s Domain; the park where the gates never close and extends around the Royal Botanic Garden from Mrs Macquaries Point to Tarpeian Way, just south of the Opera House'.
Areas of the Domain are available for outdoor public events and host a diverse range of events for public enjoyment including outdoor cinema, music concerts, dance parties and sports events. The Domain has four main precincts - the Phillip Precinct, Yurong Precinct, Tarpeian Precinct and Crescent Precinct.
Public Event Proposal Guidelines
If you are interested in hosting a outdoor public event in one of these precincts, please download the proposal guidelines to gain an understanding of the event approval process. Hire fees are determined on submission of a detailed written event proposal. The Trust encourages you to visit the Domain precincts to assist you in deciding on the best location for your proposed event.

If you are considering an outdoor public event with amplified sound the Trust would recommend reviewing the Noise Management Plan.
