The Garden's first 200 years

The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, The First 200 Years is a celebration of the history of Australia's oldest botanic garden and scientific institution.

Readers are introduced to the people and plants that tell the story of the Garden, from the arrival of Governor Phillip to the lands of the Cadigal people, through to 2016 and our plans for the future.

The 270 page, hard-cover book is jam-packed with more than 200 contemporary and historic images and is the perfect gift or souvenir to remember your visit to the Garden. In addition to telling the fascinating story of the Garden's history, plants, collections and collectors, it also offers an insight into the evolution of the city of Sydney from the arrival of the First Fleet to the present day.

The book is for sale in the Garden Shop and The Calyx ($65 non-members; $55 members), The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, The First 200 Years.
