The Florilegium

The Florilegium Society has created a unique collection of paintings of some of the significant plants in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney’s living collections In celebration of the Garden’s bicentenary in 2016.

This 224 page soft-cover publication features 87 vibrant and detailed works of botanical art. Each plate is accompanied by historical text by Colleen Morris and a botanical description by Louisa Murray.

The paintings offer an insight into the 200 year history of the Garden through the botanists, collectors and directors who collected and grew the plants. The botanical artists involved gifted their paintings to the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust in celebration of the bicentenary of the Garden.
