A Seasonal Harvest Art Class with Charlotte Thodey

A two-day art class in the beautiful surrounds of the Royal Botanic Garden with popular tutor Charlotte Thodey.

A practical search for solutions in the 'Still Life' genre with an emphasis on composition, tone, and colour with acrylic paint. Explore your individual style, ranging from a loose open brush to a finely detailed work. You will use seasonal fruit, foliage, vegetables, china and linen as props and learn to make big decisions about small things and clear the mind.

Includes refreshments and lunches each day in the beautiful surrounds of the Botanic Gardens.

About the tutor: Charlotte Thodey

Charlotte Thodey is renowned for her bold renderings of fruit and vegetables which she loves to recreate using shadow and light, with blemishes and lusciousness intact. Her sumptuous artworks demonstrate the freedom enjoyed by the still life artist.

Charlotte has exhibited her work for over 25 years, has produced a number of posters for the Botanic Gardens and Historic Houses Trust as well as devising and illustrating books. She regularly teaches classes at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney and exhibits her work throughout Australia and France.

Please note: COVID safety measures will be implemented for this event. As always, our art class size is very limited allowing for social distancing standards to be met. The theatre door will be left open (weather permitting) to allow ventilation.

Customer: The person who is attending the event. Member’s Price: Available for customers who will hold a current membership with Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens at the time of the event/activity. Customers, individuals or groups must be named as membership holders. Non-Member’s Price: Available to all customers who are not current membership holders with Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens. For cancellations of less than 10 days: No refunds or transfers. For cancellations of 10 to 30 days prior: Cancellation fee is 50% of event/activity price, capped at a maximum of $100. The remaining amount paid can be used to transfer to another event/activity or refunded. For cancellations of 30 days or more: No cancellation fee applied. The full amount paid can be used to transfer to another event/activity or refunded.
