A three-day art class in the beautiful surrounds of the Royal Botanic Garden with popular tutor Charlotte Thodey.
To explore the ‘Still Life’ genre using seasonal fruit and vegetables, and foliage.
The course emphasis will be on the close-up observation of nature in various stages of decay. A moment in time.
We will look at the basis of composition, drawing, the arranging of the objects on the canvas, the setting out of the painting according to the tonal values then proceed to the careful building up and layering of colour to capture the light. Hopefully we will reveal the essence of the fruit and vegetables, blemishes included. There is an appreciation and respect for individual style.
Includes refreshments and lunches each day in the beautiful surrounds of the Botanic Gardens.
