Erth's Prehistoric Picnic

There’s something unusual living in the Gardens this Summer…

Australia has been home to some of the world's most unique megafauna and dinosaurs.  Our largest carnivorous dinosaur, Lightning Claw, used its hook-like claws to ensnare its prey. Thunder Birds, towering over two-metres tall, made their nests among the trees.

This multi-sensory, puppetry-based experience is filled with creations inspired by Erth’s work with leading scientists and museums. Pack a picnic and join Erth, creators of incredible puppetry and performance for families, to experience some of these large, ancient creatures up close!

Erth is internationally recognised as an innovator of physical and visual theatre, and a creator of brave, unbridled work for children and their families. The company is currently Artist in Residence at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

Grab your ticket, pack a picnic, and join in the magic.

Bring a picnic blanket and choose your patch of grass for this outdoor theatre event in a covid safe environment.

The closest toilets are nearby at The Calyx, where you can also see our latest horticultural exhibition - Inside the Tide.
