Fundamentals of Propagation with Greg Lamont

Join Greg Lamont, expert Horticulturist and Growing Friends Volunteer, for the chance to learn how to propagate plant species from the living collection in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

The morning will begin with a tour of the Garden to visit species that will feature in the propagation workshop, where, under Greg’s expert guidance, guests will learn the fundamentals of plant propagation from cuttings of a range of indoor plants, garden shrubs and succulents as well as an understanding of potting mixes and plant care.

The morning will include a delicious morning tea, with the opportunity to purchase plants from the Growing Friends Plant Sales. All event guests will receive 20% off plant sales on the day.

Greg has 30 years’ experience in all technical aspects of large scale cut flower production of more than 50 lines of cut flowers. This combined with an earlier research career in the horticulture of native plants gives Greg an extensive knowledge and exceptional skills in this area, which he now gives to the Growing Friends with his dedicated work at the Nursery over the last 8 years.

A delicious morning tea and refreshments will be provided.

Customer: The person who is attending the event. Member’s Price: Available for customers who will hold a current membership with Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens at the time of the event/activity. Customers, individuals or groups must be named as membership holders. Non-Member’s Price: Available to all customers who are not current membership holders with Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens. For cancellations of less than 10 days: No refunds or transfers. For cancellations of 10 to 30 days prior: Cancellation fee is 50% of event/activity price, capped at a maximum of $100. The remaining amount paid can be used to transfer to another event/activity or refunded. For cancellations of 30 days or more: No cancellation fee applied. The full amount paid can be used to transfer to another event/activity or refunded.
