Garden Grubs

Time to ditch the screens and get outside - this all-day holiday program is full of fun adventures!  Our talented and experienced Garden educators provide a nurturing and safe environment for Garden Grubs to explore the fascinating world of bugs, trees, nature, plant science and horticulture. Fun!

Thursday 13 April 2023: All About Bugs – Kids will go on a Garden bug hunt adventure for multi-legged critters, play with their very own ‘bee goggles’ and engage in nature play craft activities to make a ‘giant bug’ to take home, inspired by nature!

Friday 14 April 2023: Autumn Garden – It’s that magical time of year when leaves start to change colour and fall from trees! Celebrate the fascinating world of Autumn plants by visiting the fabulous Calyx exhibition and our food-producing Yellowwood Garden. Collect leaves, learn how to preserve them and make an Autumn-inspired calico bag to take home!

Monday 17 April 2023: Garden Safari – Expand your powers of observation by going on a garden safari. What can you discover using your senses? We’ll learn how to make a self-watering plastic bottle planter and butterfly feeder for your garden or balcony at home.

Tuesday 18 April 2023: Wild Ways – Get ready to conquer garden challenges and learn to survive in the wild! We’ll build shelters, make damper and plant our very own crops for survival in the Yellowwood Garden.
