The Invictus Games is an international adaptive sporting event for wounded, injured and ill service men and women, both active duty and veteran.
The Games use the healing power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and celebrate the crucial role played by family and friends.
The Invictus Games 2018 opening ceremony will take place on Saturday 20 October at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt. This will be an opportunity to welcome competitors, their families and friends from around Australia and the world to kick off the Games.
Two road cycling events will be offered at Invictus Games Sydney 2018 on Sunday 21 October 2018; the time trial and the criterium. The time trial will be contested over 2.4 kilometres on a single loop course.
The criterium will be contested over several laps of a course of the same distance. Road, hand, tandem and recumbent bikes will be used in these events. The route includes Art Gallery and Mrs Macquaries Road.
Farm Cove will also play host to the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 sailing event. The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney will be the prime vantage point for guests wanting to watch the race.
