Love Our Pollinators Walk

Spring is here – and so are the pollinators!
 

This walk will visit flowers of all shapes and sizes and explore the relationships between plants and the insects and animals who help pollinate their flowers. Much more than just the birds and the bees, plants have evolved an amazing number of strategies to lure - and sometimes reward - their pollinating partners.

Pollinators are keystone species and crucial to our ecosystem. Discover how we protect and care for our important pollinators in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and find out ways how you can attract them to your garden.

This walk will start from the Maiden Theatre with a morning tea and finish at The Calyx’s Love Your Nature Exhibition. During the morning tea, you will have an opportunity to purchase a jar of honey from the Garden.
 
More about Royal Botanic Garden’s Honey
 
The honey is collected from the Garden’s own hives. Our bees have access to a smorgasbord of different flowers, giving the honey an unrivalled flavour profile.
 
Because our bees have the pick of everything from native flowering trees to exotic flowers, it’s nothing like the honey you might get from a supermarket. This is 100% raw and unheated honey produced in partnership with The Urban Beehive.
 
The honey is only $15.50 a jar and the income generated from sales goes back into supporting the Botanic Gardens.

Terms and Conditions
Customer: The person who is attending the event. Member’s Price: Available for customers who will hold a current membership with Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens at the time of the event/activity. Customers, individuals or groups must be named as membership holders. Non-Member’s Price: Available to all customers who are not current membership holders with Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens. For cancellations of less than 10 days: No refunds or transfers. For cancellations of 10 to 30 days prior: Cancellation fee is 50% of event/activity price, capped at a maximum of $100. The remaining amount paid can be used to transfer to another event/activity or refunded. For cancellations of 30 days or more: No cancellation fee applied. The full amount paid can be used to transfer to another event/activity or refunded.
