Midnight at the Oasis is situated on the Fleet Steps, below Mrs Macquarie’s Point. You will enjoy a three-course meal with a late supper, reserved table seating, plenty of entertainment, two cash bars and spectacular views of the Sydney New Year’s fireworks.

Enjoy a delicious 3-course meal at your reserved dining table, then hit the dance floor while you party along with the live band and live DJ.

Q: What time is the event?  
Gates to the event open at 6.30 pm with last entry at 8.30 pm. The event finishes at 1.00am (with last drinks at 12.30am).

Q: What is included in the ticket price?
Your ticket ensures exclusive access to stunning harbour side views of both the 9.00 pm and midnight fireworks, an entrée hamper on arrival, a sumptuous main and dessert, a late supper, live music, live DJ and a dance floor.

Every ticket purchased supports the work of the Royal Botanic Garden’s science, horticulture and conservation projects.

Q: What entertainment is at the event?
Midnight at the Oasis features a live band and a DJ who will provide a range of crowd pleasers for young and old to get you on the dance floor. Patrons will hear the synchronized fireworks music broadcast.

Q: What time are the NYE fireworks? And what view will I have?
There are two fireworks displays on New Year’s Eve at 9.00 pm and at midnight. Both displays are synchronised to music which is broadcast at the event. There are panoramic views of the harbour from this event site and tiered grandstand seating is available to all patrons for viewing the fireworks. Some dining tables have partially restricted views due to low lying tree canopies and event structures. These are listed on the ticketing website.

Q: Can I bring children to Midnight at the Oasis
This event is strictly an over 18+ event and you must be of age to purchase a ticket. Proof of age ID may be requested at entry and at the bars.

Q: What are the seating arrangements?
Midnight at the Oasis offers communal reserved tables with configurations of 4, 6 or 8 seats. Please note it is likely that you will share your table with other guests unless you choose to purchase an entire table.

A small number of tables have partially restricted views due to the position of trees or fixed structures. Please also note that some tables have backless bench seating. These areas are noted on the seating map at the point of purchase on our ticketing site.

There is access to a tiered grandstand for uninterrupted panoramic views of the harbour for the fireworks. The grandstand is accessed via steps and is not wheelchair accessible. There are however many areas across the site on ground level where the celebrations on Sydney Harbour can be viewed with unrestricted views and enjoyed.

Accessibility Holds:
There are tables being held specifically for patrons that contact Ticketbooth requesting assistance with booking a table that can easily accommodate a wheelchair user or a guest with limited mobility (such as an elderly person with walking aids).

Q: Is there a dress code?
We suggest smart casual and comfortable footwear (high heels not recommended). Guests are also advised to bring a jacket or warmer clothing as it can become quite cool at night. As this is an outdoor event, guests are advised to prepare for all weather conditions. The Event is in the Royal Botanic Gardens and is an outdoor event. There is no cover and the event will continue in all weather conditions.

Q: When do ticket sales close?
Ticket sales will close 2.00 pm on 30 December unless sold out prior.

Q: Will the event be Covid safe? 
The Royal Botanic Gardens takes the safety of our guests very seriously. All events at the Gardens during NYE2022 will be Covid safe and all events will follow the relevant Health guidelines.

Q: Will I get a refund if the event is cancelled due to Covid? 
Yes. Details are on the Ticketbooth website.

Q: What is included in the meal and how is this served?

Guests receive an entrée box on arrival. The main and dessert courses are collected from the catering restaurant at nominated service times. Service times will be allocated per your table number and will be communicated to you on arrival at your table. Please note there is no table service. The availability of main course choices will be dependent upon their popularity on the night.

Q: I have a special dietary requirement. What should I do?
The published menu and corresponding ticket type accommodates most of the common dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose free and halal. Please ensure you purchase the dietary ticket to reflect your requirements. The caterers will assist with other dietary requirements where possible but requests MUST be made upon booking tickets via the link provided and the ‘Other Dietary’ ticket type MUST be selected. 

Q: Can I bring additional food to site?
No. Additional snacks are available to purchase at the bars if required.

Q: What beverages are available?
Water is available from the bars. Beverages are not included in the ticket price and can be purchased at the cash bars. Photo ID may be requested.

Q: Can I bring alcohol to Midnight at the Oasis?
No. Midnight at the Oasis is a licensed event, and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for sale. Opened beverages will be confiscated at the bag check. The Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust reserves the right to confiscate any restricted items and/or refuse entry to any persons not complying with Conditions of Entry.

Q: Where is Midnight at the Oasis located?
Midnight at the Oasis is a waterside location at Fleet Steps South with totally unrestricted panoramic views of Farm Cove, the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Entry and exit is via Art Gallery Road, which is closed to traffic on New Year’s Eve. The event site is approximately 700 metres or a 15-minute walk from the entry gate on Art Gallery Road. Pathways are sealed and there is a moderate slope to negotiate.

Q: How do I get there?
Due to extensive road closures and high pedestrian traffic in the city, public transport is the easiest option to get to the event. There are additional trains, bus and ferry services available and transport hubs are within easy reach of this site.

The closest train stations are: 
•    Martin Place Train Station: 1 km from the managed access entry gate on Art Gallery Rd.
•   St James Train Station: 900 m to the managed access gate entry gate on Art Gallery Rd.

Q: Is Midnight at the Oasis a wheelchair accessible event?
Yes. Some sections of the seating and facilities are elevated and accessed via steps or a wheelchair lift. See detailed accessibility information here.

Ticket holders will be provided with an option to book mobility assistance if required.

Facilities and Site Details

Smoking:
Midnight at the Oasis is a non-smoking event. There will be a designated smoking area away from where patrons are seated.

Pass Outs: There are NO pass outs once a ticket holder has entered

Conditions of Entry

Please remember you are entering the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and Domain – a sensitive environment. Please consider the safety of other patrons. All patrons entering the site will be subject to security bag check and must show valid identification and tickets. Restricted items will be confiscated and entry refused to any persons not complying with conditions of entry. 

The following items will not be allowed to be brought into the event site:

•    No BYO beverages including alcohol and water
•    No glass
•    No sparklers, party poppers or candles
•    No umbrellas (personal umbrellas under 50 cm are allowed)
​•    No large tripods (small mini portable tripods are acceptable)

Responsible Service of Alcohol

Alcohol sales are subject to Responsible Service of Alcohol and Harm Minimisation Practices which will be strictly enforced. 

•    Any patrons under the influence of alcohol on arrival will be refused entry.
•    Only people aged 18 and over are able to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages. 
•    Patrons are strictly prohibited from supplying alcohol to minors onsite (i.e. persons under 18 years of age).
•    You may be required to present photographic ID to security and bar staff in order to purchase alcohol.
