NAIDOC Community Workshops

For NAIDOC week 2019, the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney invites all visitors, members of the local community, businesses and organisations to our free NAIDOC workshops throughout the Garden. These “join and learn” workshops aim to educate different aspects of Aboriginal culture, whilst also educating guests about this year's NAIDOC theme “Voice, Treaty, Truth”. We encourage all those with some free time, on a lunch break or visiting the Garden to join in as you please; listen in, engage or watch from afar.

Dates and locations:
8 July Children’s fig lawn – Weaving
9 July Opera house gates/lawns – Music and Dance
10 July Busbys bar lawn – Aboriginal tools & weapons
11 July Calyx Lawn – Ochre & dance
12 July City palace gate lawns – Art

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Learn more.

PLEASE NOTE: You are not required to register in advance for these free workshops, however your information does help us with our planning.
