Plein air painting is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape.
Come outside and paint the landscape the way the French Impressionists did. It's a rewarding and challenging artistic experience that takes a few simple techniques to master. This workshop is led by Toni McDowell, finalist in the NSW Parliament House Plein Air Painting prize, who will take you on sketching and painting excursions among the Royal Botanic Garden's inspiring plant collection.
You'll learn how to work fast, capture the changing light, observe and record the essentials of a scene and take home beautiful completed works.
