Acrylic Still Life with Flowers - June

This is an extended three day workshop to enable you to include flowers into your still life painting with acrylics.

The course emphasis will be on the close-up observation of nature and light. We will look at the basics of drawing and arranging of the objects on the canvas, to the setting out of the painting according to the tonal values and proceed to the careful building up and layering of colour to capture the light that reveals the fleshy essence of the fruit.

Charlotte Thodey is one of our most popular tutors and has been teaching classes in Still Life Painting at the Royal Botanic Garden for over ten years.  She has been exhibiting throughout Australia and New Zealand since 1980, including at the Charles Hewitt Gallery Sydney.  Every exhibition has been a sell-out.  It has been said of Charlotte that ‘she burns with a passion which her soft, beguiling exterior belies, and that she not only sleeps with her subject, she then paints it and eats it’!

Class fee includes morning tea and lunch

The remaining amount paid can be used to transfer to another event/activity or refunded. For cancellations of 30 days or more: No cancellation fee applied. The full amount paid can be used to transfer to another event/activity or refunded.
