PL❤️NTS Exhibition Opening Celebration

The PL❤️NTS exhibition, originally slated for March 2020, has been rescheduled in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Please join us for the exhibition opening on 18 July. In these unprecedented times, your support for the vibrancy of the arts and for green spaces like the Botanic Gardens is more crucial than ever before.

PL❤️NTS is a brand new art exhibition inspired by the love of plants in the green heart of the city, the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. Brought to you by Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens, we are shining a spotlight on the incredible diversity of plants living here and around the world. And we're also telling the story of their friends: the many pollinators that disperse seeds and keep the Gardens humming.

Join us for the PL❤️NTS Exhibition Opening Celebration, where you can mingle with the artists, sip on a glass of Tyrrell’s wine, and enjoy shopping for artworks in the beautiful surrounds of Lion Gate Lodge. The Lodge will host an array of artworks, including paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography and sculptures, inspired by plants in all their glory.

The exhibition will be opened by Guest Speaker Georgina Reid, Australian writer, gardener and landscape designer and author of the book and online publication The Planthunter. Since its launch in 2013, The Planthunter has grown an international reputation for its fierce commitment to communicating the importance and wonder of the natural world through rich, evocative and real storytelling.

All items in the exhibition are for sale with proceeds going to the artists who keep our culture rich and vibrant and to assisting Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens support horticulture, conservation, scientific research and education programs within your Botanic Gardens.
