It's National Threatened Species Day on 7 September and for 2 weeks afterwards - from 10 to 23 September at two beautiful locations in the Garden you can view the artworks of the finalists in the Threatened Species Children's Art Competition on site. The artworks will be on display both on The Calyx terrace and at the Children's Fig Tree.
The Threatened Species Children’s Art competition helps children to unleash their creativity and raises awareness of threatened species at the same time. There are now over 1000 threatened plants and animals in NSW alone, many of which are facing extinction if we don’t act quickly.
Last year, over 1600 children participated, from sixty three schools, fourteen other programs, and hundreds of individual families. This year we are hoping that even more schools and more children will get involved.
