The Artists approach to painting is semi-abstract. In this body of work Susanna has used her imagination to conjure up images of the “Garden” formed by her past and present experiences of different gardens.
The Sydney Botanical Garden is one of the places Susanna frequently visits and spends time in sketching. The multitude of shapes and colours featured in her paintings emerged as Susanna observes the way light flickers and bounces of the various flowers, plants, trees and shrubs.
The glorious colour arrays seen in these places allows the Artists imagination to run free, inspiring and cleansing her soul. Walking through these environments she can often finds herself drifting and visualising myself as a child again, imagining fairy’s jumping from one flower to another. The garden is her sanctuary where she find herself completely at peace .
