Skin is our biggest organ, which protects us from bacteria and changes in temperature or humidity. However, the skin’s ability to absorb substances present in our environment means that by using commercial cosmetics we expose ourselves to harmful agents.
Luckily you can make your own, natural skincare products from common pantry items, fruit and herbs grown in your garden. Shampoos, creams, toothpaste, deodorants – all can be made at home and the final products will be gentle on your skin.
In this two hour workshop you will be joined by Margaret Mossakowska, an experienced sustainability educator, who will run a short presentation about the benefits of making your own products, with recipes and techniques on how to make your own.
Margaret will then run a practical workshop where you will make a small jar of cold cream to take away with you.
