Night Time Garden Walk

Pollination Stories – Sex and Seduction in the Garden

After enjoying the beautiful display in The Calyx, with a relaxing drink and some nibbles, join our volunteer guides as we head into the Garden to find out what plants get up to once the staff go home and the lights go off. Enjoy and perhaps be repulsed by the fragrant smells certain plants emit after dark to lure potential pollinators.

Learn about plants from such extreme daytime environments that they are nearly nocturnal, flowering and even photosynthesizing at night. This is a unique opportunity to venture into our Garden by torch light, to see, smell and sense the world of plants up late.
