Have you ever wanted to include a bird in your botanical paintings or simply capture the beauty of that bird in your garden but didn’t know where to start?
In this two day course in the studio we will be looking at images of garden variety birds examining their basic anatomy and the key points to observe to start drawing and painting them.
We start with a series of preparatory graphite & colour studies in a variety of postures to gain an understanding of the subject. We will then refine those skills for the final watercolour painting as we learn various painting techniques & how to capture the finer anatomical features of birds- that will create convincing artworks.
Kerriann will also discuss field journalling & research and how this plays a key role for the artist.
Suitable for INTERMEDIATE students with drawing and some watercolour experience.
Includes morning tea and lunch
