Join Greg Bourke and John Siemon, Curator Managers at the Botanic Gardens, to hear about their adventurous excursion to regional Western Australia to collect rare and endangered plant species.
Their aim, to bring back samples to the Botanic Gardens to cultivate and grow in the living collection. Hear about their journey of discovery, along dusty tracks and large stretches of land, where in less than a fortnight they saw over 20 percent of Australia’s 235 carnivorous plant species. They identified countless ‘must haves’ including members of the pea family, the daisies and orchids to collect and planned for future displays and conservation collections.
