The lens brings focus. Attention to colour, shape, form, movement, texture, light and life. We are four local women who are collectively known as the ViewFinders. We enjoy the opportunity to use our cameras, to engage with our environment both locally, be that in our own backyard, or whilst travelling within Australia and overseas.
Through the lens we find joy in the shadow of a flower, the movement of a feather, the depth of sunset and the awe of wildlife. When travelling, the camera enables us to remove the distractions and to explore the uniqueness of place, its geometry, its vibrancy, its energy. We view the world through the lens and in so doing capture the essence of people’s lives, the beauty of nature and the wonder of the spectacular.
We photograph our emotional responses to the natural world around us at home and when we travel. Birds, animals, people, the landscape, light, colour, texture, movement all continue to inspire.
